“African Futures” is the ninth European Conference on African Studies (ECAS), jointly organized by the University of Cologne’s Global South Studies Center (GSSC) and the Catholic University of Leuven’s Institute for Anthropological Research in Africa (IARA). It aims to explore the continent’s critical engagements with the past, present, and future of Africa’s global entanglements.

»The call for papers ended on 23 January 2023, of 2496 proposed, 1900 papers were accepted. We are working on the timetable. Registration will open on 7th or 8th March. Please note that this is a fully face-to-face (only) event - not hybrid - and thus there will be no remote participation.«
