Quality Development & Accreditation
The University of Cologne previously fulfilled its obligation to regularly accredit its degree programmes as part of program accreditation in cooperation with external agencies. Following successful system accreditation in 2023, it received confirmation from the Accreditation Council that its internal quality management system Q³UzK is suitable for reviewing the criteria set out in the Study Accreditation Ordinance.
The following pages describe the individual process steps, particularly for those who may be initiating a new program or reaccreditation (subject coordinators, Faculty QM, Offices of the Deans of Studies). When redesigning and (further) developing degree programmes, it is important to take into account the university-wide regulations of the Cologne Model. These concern, for example, framework requirements, module sizes, and examinations.
In addition to the composition and tasks of the Accreditation Committee and the format of the QM dialogue, the accredited degree programmes are also presented in an overview.
