Indo-German Workshop on Enhancing Inclusive Education Through Pedagogical Practices, Teacher Development, And the Role of Special Education with a Special Reference to Gender

Aim: A two-day Indo-German dialogue on inclusive and special education, focusing on pedagogical practices, teacher education, disability rights, mental health, and gender. 

Organisers: India Offices of University of Cologne, Max Planck Gesellschaft, and Heidelberg University, and co-supported by the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi. Dr. Uma (Alumnus, UoC), Associate Professor in the School of Gender and Development Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University, was one of the speakers for the workshop. For this workshop, UoC India Office received a third-party funding from DWIH New Delhi.

Format: Eight thematic sessions with paired Indian and German speakers, enabling comparative perspectives and cross-cultural insights.

Follow-Up: The UoC teacher-training students will be informed to consider pursuing their internship in DSD level II Indian schools.
