Dr. David Markworth

David Markworth has been a board member of the Junior Faculty Club since December 2022 and there represents the Faculty of Law. Since summer 2017, he has been an Academic Councillor and habilitation candidate at the Institute for Labour and Business Law at the University of Cologne (Professor Dr. Martin Henssler/Professor Dr. Jens Koch). He received his doctorate at the University of Cologne on a topic in partnership law and studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg im Breisgau. He also obtained an MSc in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford, Wolfson College (Faculty of Law/Saïd Business School). In 2020, he was awarded the Hans Kelsen Prize for young researchers, and in 2016 he received the doctoral prize for civil law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne. In addition to company law and civil law, commercial accounting law and lawyers’ law are focal points of his academic work. Since 2022, he has also been editor of the Journal for the Law of Partnerships and Sole Proprietorships (ZPG).
