Matthias Kliemann completed his state examination for the teaching profession in German studies and history at the University of Cologne and, after completing his traineeship, is now working on his doctorate on the limits and possibilities of heterotopological readings of crime novels and their genre poetology following Foucault's spatial-theoretical approaches and structuralist analyses of the development of crime narratives by Luc Boltanski.
His research interests include literary approaches to questions of space, meaning and narratology, as well as related questions of political theory.
In addition to teaching at the CGSP, he also fulfils other teaching assignments in literary studies at the University of Koblenz, be it introductory seminars or advanced seminars for Bachelor's and Master's students.
