Scholars at Risk Scholars at Risk is a global network dedicated to supporting at-risk researchers. In total, there are over 650 member organisations in 49 countries and 17 SAR sections. Scholars at Risk also assesses the risk situation of researchers and issues risk assessments.
The University of Cologne is a founding member of the Scholars at Risk - Germany Section and a member of the steering committee. As part of this, the UoC actively promotes the networking of institutions that are committed to helping researchers at risk. SAR Germany was established in 2016 and consists of 61 member institutions. Five regional groups were founded as part of the network. The University of Cologne is an active member of the SAR NRW regional group.
Scholars at Risk NRW
The University of Cologne is a founding member of the Scholars at Risk NRW group. The network consists of a total of eight universities in North Rhine-Westphalia that support at-risk scholars. Every year, a joint series of workshops is organised for researchers at risk at the participating universities. There are also regular exchange meetings within the network.

Scholar Rescue Fund
The Scholar Rescue Fund of the International Institute of Education supports and places at-risk researchers with host institutions. The Scholar Rescue Fund also provides financial support for researchers at risk in the form of scholarships. As part of co-financing, the researchers can continue their research activities at the host institution.
Inspireurope+
Inspireurope+ (Initiative to Support, Promote and Integrate Researchers at Risk in Europe PLUS) is coordinated by Scholars at Risk Europe. At-risk researchers are supported by Inspireurope+ through a wide range of webinars, among other things.
Council for At-Risk Academics
CARA (Council for At-Risk Academics) supports applications for scholarships from the Phillipp Schwartz Initiative by preparing the necessary risk assessments for at-risk researchers.
Cologne International Forum
The Cologne International Forum bundles and connects the international research co-operations of the University of Cologne. It promotes and supports international researchers and serves as an interface to the academic and urban public.
