Otulin
Our paper on Otulin, the miraculous new OTU-type protease that specifically cleaves linear ubiquitin chains is finally out. Here is the link: http://www.cell.com/abstract/S0092-8674%2813%2900580-1. Mendel Lecture
Kay Hofmann will give the Mendel Lecture on November 21, 2013 in Brno, Czech Republic - in the same Augustinian Abbey where Mendel used to work. The title is "A common evolutionary basis for necrosis signaling in animals, fungi and plants" Timestamp 10-June-2013.

The visit to Mendel Museum at the Augustinean Abbey in Brno was an exciting trip into the past of genetics. My Lecture took place in the refectory of the old Abbey, which is a phantastic venue for scientific presentations. Also, the people in Brno were great and they have a lot of interesting science going on at Masaryk University.
