The Transatlantic Tandem Talk by the University of Cologne New York Office and partners will feature an expert discussion between Prof. Dr. Beate Müller from the University Hospital Cologne / University of Cologne and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kai Chen from the Yale School of Public Health as they compare perspectives from Germany and the United States, explore the medical and social dimensions of heat protection, and consider how healthcare systems, patients, and communities can respond to rising temperatures. The conversation will address both the immediate health risks posed by heat and the broader societal challenge of strengthening resilience in a changing climate. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Carolyn Kissane, Associate Dean and Clinical Professor at the New York University School of Professional Studies Center for Global Affairs and Founding Director of NYU’s Energy, Climate, and Sustainability Lab.
