During an EUniWell University Alliance excursion to the University of Cologne, students from all over Europe will have the opportunity to explore the central role that biodiversity and healthy soils play in our own and our planets well-being. Various topics will be addressed, including how diverse (water-saving) gardening works, how biodiversity is promoted through intelligent gardening, and what cities are doing to support the urban climate and biodiversity. The students will visit the modular model garden of the Institute for Biology Didactics at the University of Cologne, explore the city, learn about initiatives related to sustainable lifestyles, and gain a historical perspective at the LVR Open Air Museum in Lindlar. The excursion will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2025. It is offered in cooperation with the Sustainability Office of the University of Cologne.
