With the “Summer of Sustainability 2026,” the University of Cologne invites participants to explore sustainability from a variety of perspectives. The initiative comprises a wide range of activities and events aligned with the central fields of action of the university’s sustainability strategy: research, teaching, learning and education, as well as transfer and campus life.
As part of a broad and interdisciplinary program, numerous events will take place across different faculties and institutions, many of which are open to participants from all disciplines. Highlights include the fourth Sustainability Forum on June 16 and the Albertus Magnus Professorship from July 15 to 17, both of which bring international perspectives into the academic dialogue.
The “Summer of Sustainability 2026” encourages participants to engage with topics such as planetary boundaries and intergenerational justice, and to reflect on their own role in the context of global challenges and opportunities. At the same time, it provides space for exchange, networking, and collaborative engagement.
An overview of all events from April to September, as well as further information, is available on the campaign website.
