Transfer strategy of the University of Cologne

The University of Cologne considers knowledge and technology transfer to be a central task alongside research and teaching. As a research-intensive comprehensive university, we see it as our responsibility to actively contribute scientific findings to society—in exchange with politics, business, culture, and civil society.

Our transfer strategy describes how we institutionally anchor, further develop, and effectively shape this self-image. It provides orientation, makes the existing broad activities visible, and specifically supports new initiatives.

In doing so, we rely on a broad understanding of transfer: from scientific consulting and innovative start-ups to participatory research and continuing education. For us, transfer is not a one-way process – it is a mutual dialogue from which social progress can grow.
