This award recognizes outstanding achievements that effectively transfer knowledge, research results or innovative approaches from the University of Cologne to society. The award emphasizes the importance of transfer for the University of Cologne and makes transfer activities and academics who are committed to transfer visible.
Nominations can be submitted through the website until 6 January 2026. Students, university lecturers, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and doctoral students are eligible to nominate candidates. Individuals, working groups or initiatives whose measures or projects have been implemented in the last three years and have had a demonstrable social impact can be nominated.
Submitted proposals are evaluated by the Transfer Committee, which makes a recommendation to the Rectorate on the awarding of the prize. Like the established university prizes, the award is presented at the Rector's annual reception.
