Transfer Approach & Transfer Strategy
Responsible for progress – our approach to transfer
As a publicly funded university, the University of Cologne takes its social responsibility seriously. For us, research and teaching are not ends in themselves – they are intended to have an impact and provide impulses for social, cultural and economic progress.
In doing so, we remain committed to our core values: academic excellence, integrity and social responsibility. Open to new perspectives and always on equal terms.
A common framework - our Transfer Strategy
The Transfer Strategy provides a framework. It categorizes the variety of activities and recognizes the commitment of the researchers. It emphasizes that transfer is a central task of the University of Cologne – alongside research and teaching.
For us, transfer includes our four fields of action: communication, consulting, application and further education.
We are actively shaping the future by establishing a wide range of local, national and global partnerships.
Transforming research into action – our Transfer Scouts
Through subject-specific Transfer Scouting, the University of Cologne has pioneered a professional field across a wide range of disciplines that identifies transfer potential at an early stage, initiates collaborations with industry partners and, in particular, supports knowledge-based spin-offs.
The white paper on transfer scouting demonstrates how this model, based on many years of experience and embedded within the university-wide transfer strategy, systematically strengthens and structurally anchors transfer.
