Transfer approach & Transfer Strategy

Responsible for progress – our approach to transfer

At the University of Cologne, ‘transfer’ means more than simply passing on knowledge through patents, licences or spin-offs. It is a reciprocal, lively process – supported by the entire university: researchers, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and students.

Transfer happens when science connects with business and society. Be it through direct solutions – for patients, court proceedings, companies, or schools – or through the potential of basic research for future innovations. Central institutions such as the KinderUni or the study programmes for senior citizens also make academic knowledge accessible to a broader public.

A common framework - our transfer strategy

The transfer strategy provides a framework. It categorizes the variety of activities and recognizes the commitment of the researchers. It emphasizes that transfer is a central task of the university – alongside research and teaching.

For us, transfer includes our four fields of action: communication, consulting, application and further education.

We are actively shaping the future by establishing a wide range of local, national and global partnerships.

Forschung in Wirkung verwandeln – unsere Transferscouts
