This one-semester Studienstart International Medizin gives you access to the University of Cologne.
Studienstart International Medizin is an orientation semester that prepares you for your desired degree programme by offering basic courses in your field of study, subject-specific German courses, as well as seminars on intercultural awareness and study skills.
Orientation events and extensive counselling complement Studienstart International Medizin.
Studienstart International Medizin will also help you feel at home in the city and at the University of Cologne.
After successfully completing Studienstart International Medizin, you can enroll directly in the first semester of your degree programme – without having to apply again.

Human Medicine

- Tutorial on medical terminology
- German for physicians
- German language course(s) based on your German skills, if necessary
- Seminar ‘Intercultural Awareness’

- Orientation series at the Faculty of Medicine
Requirements for admission to the degree programme:
- Regular participation in the above-mentioned courses
- Passing the examination for the above-mentioned courses
After successfully completing Studienstart International Medicine, you can enroll directly in the first semester of your degree programme – without having to apply again.
If you do not pass, you can repeat Studienstart International Medicine once.
