Partial Funding of Winter, Spring and Summer Schools

The programme COLOGNE SUMMER SCHOOLS, located in the Division 9 International Affairs, uses funding from Santander to support international winter, spring, and summer school projects that are planned and implemented by professors or employees of the University of Cologne (UoC). External research institutions or other (international) cooperation partners may be involved, but they must have a partnership with the UoC or the unit organising the summer school.

Since 2020, COLOGNE SUMMER SCHOOLS has supported projects on-site in Cologne or abroad, as well as summer schools that are held online in virtual space or a hybrid setting. 

There is only one call for project proposals for 2026.

     Call opens on October 15^th, 2025 and closes on January 10^th, 2026

     Letters of approval will be sent by January 31^st, 2026

Applications can be submitted for winter, spring, and summer schools, which will be realized between March and October 2026 and invoiced until December 2026.
