Mobility for Teaching Purposes at German Higher Education Institutions

Staff Mobility for Teaching (Teaching Mobility)

Erasmus+ funds guest lectureships at European partner universities that hold an Erasmus+ Higher Education Charter. Through their stay, guest lecturers should strengthen the European dimension of the host institution, complement its course offerings, and share their expertise with students who cannot or do not wish to study abroad. This should involve the development of joint study programmes between the two partner universities and the exchange of educational content and methodologies.

The teaching assignments must comprise a minimum of eight hours of teaching over at least two consecutive days and may last a maximum of six weeks.

This funding line is available to the following groups of people:

  • Professors and lecturers with a contractual relationship to the university
  • Research associates / academic staff
  • Doctoral candidates engaged in teaching activities

The funding requirements for teaching mobilities are requested from the faculties annually in the summer for the following academic year.

The programme offers the following benefits:

  • Predefined travel allowance (depending on the distance)
  • Reimbursement of subsistence costs up to a maximum EU rate tiered by destination country
