The following training, networking and information events are open to all postdocs at the University of Cologne and are free of charge. They are organized by career phase for Recognized Researchers (R2) and Established Researchers (R3).

In addition to the events listed here specifically for postdocs, you will find many other offers in the Continuous Development Programme of the University of Cologne in which you can participate.

Transfer, Start-ups & Innovation

**Provided by Dept. 75 IP – Management & Technology Transfer**

For the first time, the UzK is offering its advanced students (from the end of their Bachelor’s degree onwards, including Master’s students), doctoral candidates and postdocs access to the European Patent Office’s Modular IP Education Framework (MIPEF) continuing professional development courses on intellectual property (IP).

The courses are aimed at scientists and provide a practical understanding of the filing and granting of patents as the basis for technology transfer, and of the protection of intellectual property in research results. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate from the European Patent Office.

Registration for the MIPEF courses in the winter semester is open until 14 October 2026.
