Registration in Docfile includes the creation of a user account and the completion of the digital assistant for the application "Admission as a doctoral candidate*in" with the submission of the entries on the last slide.
You will find the digital assistant on the second tile after logging in on the start page at " Please register here".

I have canceled my doctorate at the University of Cologne. What do I have to do now?
If you have cancelled your doctoral project, please contact your doctoral office in the faculty. Please note that if you exmatriculate as a doctoral candidate, no data will be transferred to the doctoral office. Please also notify the doctoral office of your cancellation.
Does the registration in Docfile also represent an acceptance as a doctoral student at the faculty?
No. In order to do a doctorate at the University of Cologne, you must be accepted as a doctoral candidate by a faculty. Acceptance as a doctoral candidate is regulated in the doctoral regulations of the respective faculties. Only with the confirmation of acceptance it is ensured that you meet the requirements for a doctorate at the University of Cologne.
You will soon be able to submit your application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate electronically via Docfile.
Am I automatically enrolled at the University of Cologne by registering in Docfile?
No. After your faculty has officially accepted you as a doctoral candidate, you can receive a certificate of enrolment for your doctoral studies. For the enrolment for the doctoral studies programme, please contact the student office.
