SEMINAR   Advanced Organic Chemistry

• each participant presents an oral lecture on a given topic / publication.

• length: 15 min.;  lectures shorter than 12 min. will not be accepted.

• a mentor (OC group leader) coaches a talk and advises its preparation;
  the final version of the talk must be approved via email by the mentor one week
  before
the scheduled presentation.

• a chair (one of the participants) hosts a session; 
  the chair introduces the speaker (name, course of study, Ba-thesis: where, when, title);
  the chair moderates the discussion after the talk and asks at least one question
  if no one else asks.

• some guidelines for the presentation:
  use chemical drawings and figures extensively, keep text to an absolute minimum;
  cite the literature properly, use page numbers;
 
consistent, uniform presentation design (e.g. template);
  presentation: speak freely, practice beforehand, keep the time, use a laser pointer;
  general structure:   
    1) introduction & motivation 
    2) results & discussion 
    3) summary & conclusions.
